You may not a) transfer, rent, lease, or sublicense the software, b) decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer or create a derivative work of the software or c) use it for commercial gain or profit. Download Core FTP

First read the information that follows about downloading and installing the software and then signify your acceptance of the preceding user agreement by clicking below.

Because of licensing restrictions, you'll be connected to a secure sever once you click on the "I agree" link above. You'll be required to enter your OSU Internet username and password to access this server.

Install Core FTP

As you're downloading the install file, the type of information that appears on your screen varies depending on the browser you're using.

  1. When the download is finished, unzip the setup file.

  2. Close all open windows, and then choose Run in the Start menu.

  3. Click on the Browse button in the "Run" dialog box.

  4. Locate the subdirectory where you downloaded the Core FTP software and click on the file coreftp2_0.exe. Click on Open and then click on OK to begin unzipping the files.

  5. When prompted for an "Unzip to Folder," use an empty temporary directory on your hard drive. Important: If you already have a version of Core FTP installed, do not extract the setup file into the same directory; doing so could damage your existing installation.

  6. Click on the Unzip button in the WinZip Self-Extractor window to begin extracting the setup files.

  7. Locate the directory where you unzipped the files. Start the installation by double-clicking on coreftp2_0.exe.

  8. The "Welcome" screen appears. Click on Next to continue.

  9. A "ReadMe" screen appears outlining use terms. Read this and then click on Next. Note that a registration file is provided in this download.

  10. A "Choose Destination" screen appears. Select the default directory or click on Browse to choose a directory and then click on Next.

  11. A screen appears so you can back up replaced files. This allows you to roll back your system to its previous status, should you uninstall this program. Choose Yes or No depending on your circumstances, and click on Next.

  12. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

  13. The download contains a registration file, reg.rgf, which is used to register your copy. When you click on Help and select Register, a window comes up entitled "Enter Registration Info." You can paste your information from the file into this window. Alternatively, you can click on the File box and navigate to your downloaded files and select reg.rgf. This will register your copy, "brand" the software to OSU's license, and remove a three second splash screen delay on startup.
