PowerTerm Pro License Agreement
You must read and agree to the following terms before you can begin the download:
This software is provided to you under an agreement between the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and Ericom Corporation to make PowerTerm Pro available at a substantially reduced price.
Under the terms of the agreement, PowerTerm Pro may be distributed to current faculty, staff and students. All copies belong to Ohio State University. You have a right to use the software while you are affiliated with Ohio State University. When you are no longer a current faculty, staff or student, you must leave this software with your department and/or remove it from your personal computer.
This software may be used on The Ohio State University's main and regional campuses and on your home computer. Archival copies may be made for the sole purpose of backing up the software.
If you are authorized to install multiple copies, you must advise anyone who is using or receiving any of those copies that they are prohibited from distributing, modifying or making copies of the software, you must supply them with the terms of this agreement and you agree to provide their names to the IT Service Desk at 025 Central Classrooms to record the distribution. You can also provide this information by writing to Customer Services at 8help@osu.edu or by calling 688-HELP.
Both United States copyright laws and international treaty provisions protect this software. Each copy of the software for which you sign is registered with OIT.

Download PowerTerm Pro
First read the information that follows about downloading and installing the software and then signify your acceptance of the preceding user agreement by clicking below.
Because of licensing restrictions, you'll be connected to a secure sever once you click on the "I agree" link above. You'll be required to enter your OSU Internet username and password to access this server.
Install PowerTerm Pro
Note: As you're downloading the install file, the type of information that appears on your screen varies depending on the browser you're using.
- When the download is finished, you must expand the
setup file.
- Choose Run in the Start menu.
- Click on the Browse button
in the "Run" dialog box.
- Locate the directory where you downloaded the setup
file and click on ptermpro8_83.exe. When
prompted for a location for the expanded files, select an empty, temporary
directory and click on Open and then click
on OK.

In past installations, it was necessary to view a file after expanding the download for information regarding the serial number to use. The serial number is now pre-bound into the installer so you will not need to enter that.

Close all windows on your desktop. Start the install by again clicking on Start and Browse. In the PowerTerm Enterprise directory you expanded into your temporary file folder, locate and click on setup.exe.

If you already have Powerterm installed, you may receive a message "Powerterm is already installed on your computer. Do you want to continue with Installation?" Click on the yes button.
- Follow any onscreen directions as they appear.
Notes:
- A PowerTerm user's guide is included in the download.
- Upon initial execution on a Vista machine, the program may immediately terminate with an error message that it cannot be run. If this happens, go to the PowerTerm shortcut on your desktop, right click and select Run as administrator. This should correct the problem and you will not have to repeat this step.
