SYSTAT for Windows

Download SYSTAT

Because of licensing restrictions, you'll be connected to a secure sever once you click on the "download" link below. You'll be required to enter your OSU Internet username and password to connect to this server. Warning: This file is very large; do not attempt to download it using a modem connection unless you're prepared to wait a number of hours for the process to complete.

Install SYSTAT

Note: You must have a license file to install this software. This will be sent to you via email. If you have not already signed the end user agreement (new users only), you should proceed to the IT Service Desk in 025 Central Classrooms to complete this part.

As you're downloading the install file, the type of information that appears on your screen varies depending on the browser you're using.

  1. When the download is finished, uncompress the self-extracting setup file.

  2. Close all open windows, and then choose Run in the Start menu.

  3. Click on the Browse button in the "Run" dialog box.

  4. Locate the subdirectory where you downloaded Systat and click on the file systat12.exe. Click on Open and then click on OK.

  5. When prompted for an "extract to" directory, use an empty temporary directory on your hard drive.

  6. Locate the directory where you expanded your files and then click on the file Autoplay.exe. Click on Open and then click on OK.

  7. Click on Install SYSTAT to start the installation.

  8. Click on SYSTAT 12 for 32-bit Windows, SYSTAT 12 for 64-bit Windows, etc., depending on your system. Do not select Network as OSU does not have a network license for SYSTAT.

  9. When you're asked for an Organization, enter: Ohio State University. For Serial Number, enter: 797070164.

  10. Important: When you're asked for the type of installation, you're given three options: 1 - Standalone, 2 - Site, 3 - Network. You must select Site.

  11. You will then be given the opportunity to select the components you want to install.

  12. At the end of the installation on Finish. Note by default SYSTAT 12 manuals are slated to be installed. To prevent this, uncheck the option Install SYSTAT 12 PDF Manuals.

  13. After starting SYSTAT, you will see a screen indicating this is a license evaluation copy or you will see "NO license found." After clicking OK, you will see a message "Do you want to update the license?" Click on Yes to bring up the license Administrator window.

  14. Type the absolute path to the license file, SYSTAT 12 9_07.lic, in the file edit box, or browse to the file you received via email from the IT Service Desk.

Note: You also can start the license administrator by clicking Start > Programs > SYSTAT > Update license.
