Virex 7.7 Patch 1

Important: This patch applies only to Virex 7.7, build 163 (build 163 in "Virex About" dialog box).

Because of licensing restrictions, you'll be connected to a secure sever once you click on the "download" link below. You'll be required to enter your OSU Internet username and password to connect to this server.

Install patch

When the install file has finished downloading and uncompressing, you're ready to start the setup program.

1. Exit from your current version of Virex.
   
   
2. Open the folder where you downloaded the patch.
   
   
3. If necessary, expand the downloaded .hqx file.
   
   
4. This will produce a folder called Virex 7.7 Patch 1 containing two files, Virex 7.7 Patch 1 pkg and Readme.txt.
   
   
5. Double click on the Readme.txt file, and review the information about this patch.
   
   
6. Double-click on Virex 7.7 Patch 1.pkg to start the installer. Note you will need to supply your administrator password when prompted.

Detailed steps for validating patch install

You can check that the patch is applied correctly by verifying the product version information of Virex.app and VShieldCheck.

1. Launch Virex.app from the Applications folder.
   
   
2. Open the About dialog by clicking the About Virex menu option from the Virex menu.
   
   
3. The About dialog should display the following information: McAfee Virex version 7.7 (build 194).
