VirusScan 8.5.5 Patch for Windows
Before Installing the Patch
The errors this patch addresses include the following:
- VirusScan Statistics has been updated so that users with sufficient privileges can now disable the On-Access Scanner from the console regardless of how many user groups they belong to.
- The VirusScan Enterprise management plug-in has been updated to write to the registry only if it sees that it is different from the current policy. This prevents McShield from generating events on policy enforcement, unless that policy has changed.
- In addition this patch includes all fixes from Patch 1, Patch 2, Patch 3, and Patch 4.
For a detailed discussion of these and other errors fixed by this patch, please see "Patch5.txt" after you unzip the download below. Review the issues to see if they affect you. Before you install this patch make sure your copy of VirusScan 8.5 is at the following minimum levels:
- DAT Version: 5201
- Engine Version: 5.2.00
Important: If you are unsure what this patch does or if it applies to your copy of VirusScan, please consult with the OIT Technology Support Center, 688-HELP or 8help@osu.edu.
